Lovers of good wines, the Swiss French-speaking part of Switzerland are also men of taste and do not hesitate, when the occasion arises, to put the small dishes in the big ones!

Indeed, the Lake Geneva region is one of the most renowned in the world for the arts of the table.

Whether local specialities or traditional dishes, business meals or gastronomic menus, the cuisine offered by the numerous establishments in the region rivals that of the world’s greats in both quality and creativity.

This year, three of the 12 establishments crowned by the GaultMillau 2020 in Geneva are run by EHG graduates.

Exit Neptune, hello Tablar, and long live this new urban nibbling trend, half local food, half natural wine bar. The moult of Nicolas Darnauguilhem’s gastronomic establishment is undoubtedly the event of the year 2019.

All the more so as it coincides with the opening of a festive and equally successful replica of the Augustins, Florian Le Bouhec’s Bombar. Geneva loves it!

LES FOURNEAUX DU MANÈGE

The place is unusual: a romantic 19th century mansion in its green setting. Today it houses a pretty bistro with a period tiled floor and a restaurant with noble volumes highlighted by an imposing black marble fireplace.

In summer, you can relax on the terrace in the shade of the hundred-year-old trees, facing the riding school which gives its name to the complex.
The place has recently been taken over by three enthusiastic young professionals: Sebastian in the kitchen, Gautier and Marc in reception and management.

EHG offers job opportunities with theorical and pratical training

Studies at the Hotel Management School are a balanced mix of theory and practice. Theoretical instruction (in management, marketing, web marketing, human resources, etc.) is followed, and the practical aspects (customer reception, cuisine, events, management, etc.) are at least as important.

Case studies and periods of internships in companies are compulsory in order for students to gain work experience. The EHG has two application restaurants, the restaurant Vieux Bois and the L’Auberge restaurant in Chambésy (12/20 at the GaultMillau) which allow students to train in a life-size setting.
